The 100 European Disc Golf Courses People Most Want To Play

We're again taking a look at which European disc golf courses were wishlisted most often over the last year by disc golfers with UDisc, the world's top disc golf app. There are over 15,000 disc golf courses worldwide, and while we annually honor the world's best disc golf courses based on course ratings from players who've experienced them, it's also interesting and worthwhile to recognize which tracks are getting the most disc golfers hyped to play them in the future.

If you're not familiar with how to wishlist courses while perusing the UDisc Courses directory, it's a simple tool that helps you keep track of places that catch your eye and see if any of them happen to be nearby when you travel. You'll find a full explanation of how wishlisting works in a section later on in this post.

How Does Wishlisting Disc Golf Courses in UDisc Work?

Every time you view a course on the UDisc app where you have no recorded rounds, you'll see the Add to Wishlist option to the right of the course rating. If you tap it, the course is then added to your wishlist. When you search for courses, you can filter by wishlist and see where the courses are in the world that have snagged your interest.

You can also see a map of every course you've wishlisted when you...

1. Open the UDisc app
2. Tap the More tab
3. Scroll to Discover
4. Tap Courses played / wishlist
5. Tap Wishlist near the top of your screen

If you're going on trips, this is a great way to see if any of your must-plays are anywhere near your destination (or if you end up with clusters in certain areas, a good way to plan your next trip). Once you play a course, your wish has been fulfilled, and it leaves your wishlist.

How Did You Make the List of the 100 European Disc Golf Courses People Most Want to Play in 2024?

We ranked European courses based on how many disc golfers with UDisc added them to their wishlists over the last year. Because we plan to update these rankings annually and want them to reflect which courses are the freshest additions to disc golfers' daydreams, we only included wishlist additions made within a year of when we pulled the stats for this post in early October 2024.

Which European Countries Have the Most Disc Golf Courses People Dream of Playing?

With over a third of all top wishlisted courses in Europe, Norway leads the pack along with Sweden at a close second. This is a flip-flop from last year when Sweden was on top over Norway, but that's not a huge shock considering Norwegians have tons of new courses to dream about – the country added over 200 disc golf facilities in the last year alone.

The Nordic countries of Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark are all crazy for disc golf, representing four of the top six countries in disc golf courses per capita (the other two are Iceland and Estonia). With local governments in these nations often offering significant financial support for activities that offer low cost, healthy outdoor recreation, courses in these regions tend to be very high quality in terms of infrastructure and maintenance compared to more southerly European tracks.

This has raised local players' expectations, too, as evidenced by how Nordic players tend to rate courses more harshly than people in North America or their European neighbors to the south. We've noticed – and accounted for – this norm when creating our annual rankings of the world's best disc golf courses. You'll also notice it in the course ratings in the top 100 wishlist rankings table if you keep an eye out.

The high number and enthusiasm of Nordic players plus the sterling reputation of their area's courses makes it unsurprising that dic golf facilities in these regions dominate European wishlist rankings.

Some Things Worth Noticing About the Top 100

• Krokhol remains dominant
  Krokhol Disc Golf Course just outside of Norway's capital, Oslo, made a huge leap in 2024 when, after two years as the world's #2 disc golf course, it clenched the #1 spot. It also got plenty of exposure by hosting a Disc Golf Pro Tour Elite event for the first time in its history.
  
  Krokhol was #1 in Europe's wishlist rankings in 2023, too, but it only beat out second place by 5%. This year, its advantage over the #2 spot is nearly 50%. It seems being #1 in the world has really boosted its rep.

• Ale White on the rise
  Reopening under new ownership in 2023 after a few years of closure, Ale Disc Golf Center in Sweden is reclaiming its prestige in the European disc golf world. It came in as the #3 course in the world in our 2024 world rankings and has climbed from #7 in last year's European wishlist rankings to #2. It even had multiple U.S. pro disc golfers proclaiming on social media that it was far and away the world's best disc golf course. • Finland's Tampere rockets up the list
  The disc golf course in Tampere, Finland, helped host the PDGA Major European Open for the first time in 2024 along with the much-loved Beast layout in Nokia. It will also join the Beast in making history next year when the two courses become the first places outside of North America to host a PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championship. The exposure from the Major coverage plus its upcoming co-hosting duties for an historic Worlds likely played a big part in it jumping up a whopping 44 spots in the European wishlist rankings from last year.

What to Know Before Reading The Top 100

• Mobile and tablet users can swipe left/right on the table to see all columns.
• You can see photos, reviews, availability, and more of any course in the table by just tapping or clicking its name.
• The European Wish Grade is based on how often a course was wishlisted in the UDisc app as compared to the #1 most wishlisted course on the continent. Like a test graded on a curve, the #1 course has a score of 100.0 and the other courses' grades are based on how their wishlist totals measure up to that top mark.
• The Rating is the course's rating out of five stars based on the opinions of disc golfers with UDisc at the time we pulled these stats shortly before the publication date. Depending on when you read this, the course rating may be different in the directory than it is here.
• The layout difficulty rating symbols mean the following:
  Easy
  
  Moderate 
  
  Challenging 
  
  Very challenging
  
  Click or tap to learn more about the UDisc course difficulty rating system. Courses with no symbols in this column have not created Smart Layouts, which are needed for course difficulty ratings.
• A green dollar sign ($) under "Fee?" means a course is a traditional pay-to-play.
• A gray dollar sign ($) means that a course is technically free to play but donations are encouraged.
• No dollar sign means a course is free to play as far as we know.
